About

This blog is created by Chris Henning, Co-Founder & Event Coordinator of The Buffalo Hiking Group.  The Buffalo Hiking Group is an business dedicated to helping residents and visitors of Western New York learn about the many healthy outdoor activities that the Western New York area has to offer. We do that by coordinating many outdoor activities such as Nature Hikes, Snowshoe Hikes, Cross Country Skiing, Backpacking Events & Camping Outings.

As a membership based group The Buffalo Hiking Group believes that it’s much nicer to participate in activities with friends, not just other people, therefore we offer Social Events throughout the year for our members. Some of the social events include: Happy Hours, Potluck Dinner & Lunches, Family Picnics & Cookouts, Tobogganing & Tubing Days & many others.

The Buffalo Hiking Group is very Eco-Conscious & makes efforts to support local initiatives to help out our environment such as The Buffalo/Niagara Riverkeeper Shoreline Clean Up which we participate in twice a year to help give back to the environment. We also practice the principles of Leave No Trace during our outdoor events to leave a little impact on nature as possible.

The Buffalo Hiking Group also organizes Tours showcasing the City of Buffalo and its past, present & future. Some of the tour offerings are The Buffalo Waterfront, Buffalo Canalside, Buffalo First Ward, South Buffalo Pub Tour, with many more being researched. We offer these tours to groups of 20-40 people such as: Church Groups, Student Groups, Corporations or even groups of friends.
